"Meriwether Lewis, Letters From Home" - 7:00-8:00 pm, Van Wyck Campground.  Anyone even remotely interested in the Lewis & Clark Expedition will want to be there.  Portrayed by Tim McNeil in full period costume.

Musical celebration of our unique heritage as citizens of the USA.  8:00-9:00 pm, Crown Point Campground.

Lake Cascade State Park is presenting a variety of free, open to the public, programs for your enjoyment this

upcoming weekend. 

 

Friday, July 9, 8:00-9:00 pm at Huckleberry campground (on the west side of the lake)

"Sacajawea: Who Was She?"  Learn more about Idaho's heroine who accompanied Lewis & Clark on their expedition 200 years ago.

 

Sat. July 10. --- 3 programs:

Jr. Ranger Program  "Skins, Skulls, Scat, & Tracks: a hands-on encounter with the animals in our forest."     

10:00-11:00 am at Crown Point Campground

1:00-2:00 pm at Huckleberry Campground

 

Meet at 8:00 pm at Crown Point Campground entrance host site for "Ambush Walk: the 1878 Long Valley Massacre".  Dress for a short .4 mile level walk along Vista Point Boulevard to the ambush site.  Then up a short trail to the marker.  The more hardy may also wish to walk to the actual grave site off Lake Way Drive.   You've seen the historical site sign by Ashley Inn?  Now you can experience the story behind it.
